Following the release of DJ Premier and A$AP Ferg’s collab “Our Streets,” signaling the relaunch of Payday Records, the label has released a music video from one of their youngest artists, Pell. At 25, the Los Angeles-based rapper has been around cellphones and the internet most of his life, and in his new Rahki-produced song “chirpin’,” he reflects on how much of a distraction technology can be and how he desires to reclaim his time and bring more human interaction into his life. The video has the aesthetic of old film and analog video, with a box-shaped screen aspect and poppy colors.
“‘Chirpin’” is the lead single for Pell’s upcoming girasoul EP which will be out December 12th via Payday Records. Check out the video above and head here to pre-order the EP.
