Watch the Trailer for Our New Mir Fontane Doc, ‘Camden: A Child Invincible’

Ain’t nothing nice in Camden, New Jersey. For years, the southern Jersey city of about 80,000 just across the Delaware River from Philadelphia has been best known for its high crime and poverty rates and heavy gang activity. It’s been called the most dangerous city in the United States (a characterization city officials reject), and it has the gutted vibe of the prototypical post-industrial Rust Belt ghost town after the economy’s crashed and the jobs are gone. But despite all of its pitfalls and drawbacks, for Mir Fontane Camden is home, and he’s out to put his city on the map for something other than having nothing.

Today, MASS APPEAL is proud to announce our latest documentary, Camden: A Child Invincible. The 25-minute film follows Mir Fontane as he brings us home and shines a light on the all too often forgotten, written off and dismissed city that raised and made him. The full-length piece arrives at the top next week. In the meantime, you can get a sneak peek of the project in the trailer above, and be sure to check out Mir Fontane’s Camden mixtape here.
